Flower Care
Beautiful flowers deserve thoughtful care. Follow these simple instructions to help your Bloomistry Studio flowers stay fresh and beautiful for as long as possible.
WRAPPED BOUQUETS
- Prepare a clean vase.
Wash the vase thoroughly with soap and rinse it well. A clean vase helps prevent bacteria from shortening the life of your flowers.
- Add fresh water and flower food.
Fill the vase with fresh, cool water and add the flower food provided with your bouquet. Follow the directions on the flower food packet and do not use more than recommended.
- Trim the stems.
Using clean, sharp floral shears or a knife, trim approximately ½–1 inch from the bottom of each stem at a 45-degree angle. This helps the flowers absorb water more effectively.
Avoid crushing the stems or using dull scissors.
- Remove leaves below the waterline.
Remove any leaves or greenery that would sit below the surface of the water. Submerged leaves can cause bacteria to grow and make the water cloudy.
- Change the water regularly.
Change the water every one to two days. Wash the vase, add fresh water, and trim the stems again before returning the flowers to the vase.
Check the water level daily. Large bouquets and hydrangeas may drink water very quickly.
VASE ARRANGEMENTS
Check the water level every day and add fresh water as needed.
When possible, carefully remove the flowers, wash the vase, replace the water, and retrim the stems every one to two days.
Keep the arrangement upright and avoid overcrowding or pressing the flowers against a wall or window.
FLOWER BOXES AND FLORAL FOAM ARRANGEMENTS
Flowers arranged in floral foam should remain in the container.
Check the floral foam daily and slowly add a small amount of fresh water directly to the center of the arrangement. Avoid pouring water onto flower petals or overfilling the container.
Keep the arrangement upright and place it on a surface that will not be damaged by moisture.
THE BEST PLACE FOR YOUR FLOWERS
Keep flowers in a cool indoor location away from:
• Direct sunlight;
• Heating vents, radiators, fireplaces, and appliances;
• Air-conditioning drafts and strong fans;
• Open windows and extreme temperatures;
• Ripening fruit, which naturally releases ethylene gas;
• Pets and small children.
Fresh flowers generally last longer in a cooler room.
REMOVE FADING FLOWERS
Different flower varieties have different natural lifespans. Remove individual flowers or leaves as they begin to fade. This helps protect the remaining flowers and keeps the arrangement looking fresh.
HYDRANGEA CARE
Hydrangeas require a large amount of water. Check their water level frequently and never allow the vase to become empty.
If a hydrangea begins to wilt, retrim the stem and place it in fresh water. You may also lightly mist the petals with clean water.
ROSE CARE
Remove any leaves that fall below the waterline and keep the vase filled with clean water.
If a rose begins to bend near the top of the stem, retrim the stem with a clean, sharp tool and place it back into fresh water as soon as possible.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Fresh flowers are natural and perishable. Their lifespan varies depending on the flower variety, room temperature, transportation, water quality, environment, and care received after delivery or pickup.
Bloomistry Studio is not responsible for damage caused by improper care, extreme temperatures, leaving flowers inside a vehicle, lack of water, or other conditions outside our control.
